The Team
Our team begins with Dr. Kevin McAfee, the founding partner of McAfee & Associates. OCEANIA STUDIOS is our film production company. McAfee Capital, the fiscal engine of the organization, is under the M&A umbrella. Kevin's honorary doctorates were granted in Washington DC in 2015 for his work in character, with Philosophy being the first award. The second doctorate, from the Latin University of Theology, was Civil Rights. Kevin has been a CEO in the motion picture industry for three studios and is a purpose-driven filmmaker.
The next invaluable asset is one of the founding partners, Jag Gholson, who is a WEG advisor based in the Athens, GA office. This specific group has specialized in securities, large transactions and is a heralded company for wealthy individuals, family offices and a myriad of groups. Jag's specialty is in insurance and estate arenas for their investment pool which is in the billions.
In addition to the fiscal success, Jag is also an award-winning Executive Producer on major film documentaries over the past decade for the films he and Dr. McAfee created. Studying filmmaking and working alongside the management team of Oceania, he is a semi-retired filmmaker providing fiscal follow up on all the group's film productions.

McAfee & Associates umbrella organization invested years in capital and in sweat equity for the franchise creating this new film entitled MORE THAN CHAMPIONS. The seed capital created a fully completed screenplay, line producing, marketing materials, pre-casting with major motion picture stars and has identified locations for filming in the deep South in Georgia, Tennessee and more.
The film's writer/director/producer, Kevin McAfee, is an award-winning visionary filmmaker with four decades of experience filming over 40 countries. In the early 2000s, he was recruited by the Green family of Hobby Lobby to produce Beyond the Gates of Splendor (2002) and End of the Spear (2005). The combined budgets for his entire group of projects brought his box office total revenue exceeding $350 million.
Kevin coached basketball with one of the winningest coaches in basketball, Bob Hoffman, who is now head coach at the third largest college in Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma. Bob engaged Coach K Mac to be a character coach at Oklahoma Baptist University, University of Texas Pan American, Oklahoma University and Mercer University. For twenty-six years he coached Division I, II, and NAIA and personally experienced all of the circumstances every coach faces regarding race relations and much more.
Jag and Kevin met on the basketball court of Mercer University when Coach K-Mac was working in Macon. The same school Sam Oni and Donald Baxter were roommates.
Legal Team
Dr. McAfee recently engaged an attorney with Buchalter Law in Atlanta to pursue the fifteen million capital raise. Historically, however, his film projects have been funded by UHNW families who wanted to be part of creating a legacy through film.
Dennis Disney of Disney/Shrum is the intellectual properties firm based in Nashville who works directly with Kevin.
Since 2000, the former general counsel to Universal was Bill Skyrzniarz. He and Tonya Mallean moved from their Rodeo Drive to Santa Monica, California. The expertise they bring to the table in distribution and labor is an invaluable asset.
The Message
The film franchise and narrative feature film, MORE THAN CHAMPIONS, is based on a true story set in Macon, Georgia during the 1960s. The story weaves together themes of civil rights, faith, and basketball, highlighting how the lives of both Black and White residents helped shape race relations in Georgia during that era because of Mark Smith, the first integrated basketball team in the state to win the championship in 1969. It is a compelling story of unity with broad appeal across audiences. The project has been more than ten years in the making and includes a powerful pre-cast lineup featuring several well-known actors.
Dr. McAfee provided marketing counsel for Roma Downey on Paramount's BEN HUR, served as marketing counsel on TWISTER, and began his career as part of the Screen Extras Guild cast in ROCKY II. He has worked with major studios including Sony, Disney, Universal, Paramount and New Line Cinema. The organization will be assembling 26 department heads in major roles as we move forward.
Kevin has also served as the inaugural film commissioner for the Christian Bookseller's Association. Dr. McAfee has advised organizations in entertainment and intellectual property, including the Gospel Music Association and Evangelical Christian Publisher's Association. On the corporate side of his previous firm Innovative Resources, he worked with the INC 500, and INC Magazine in Boston and New York City.
