Our Story
From the beginning of time when the sea covered the earth, the ocean has always been a sign of peace and beauty. In the topography of the world, there is a place called Oceania in the South Pacific spanning over fifteen hundred islands across the sea.
Helmed by the visionary filmmaker, Dr. Kevin McAfee, this media missionary was sent into uncharted waters to bring stories into view focusing on people, reconciliation, kindness and love.
Dr. Billy Graham gave Kevin advice when he asked him, "What kind of films would you make if you were a filmmaker?" He replied, "I would tell stories of the journey of people's lives." In the past decade, Kevin's films have taken him on a nautical journey into people's lives.
Approaching 200 domestic and international film festival wins in the independent market, the award-winning filmmaker gives all the glory to God. The living water which turns into our ocean waves have brought many islands under the Oceania name, and the future is filled with much more.
Oceania Studios
From a gathering of visionary filmmakers in Nashville to an entertainment conglomerate spanning over forty nations — the story of Oceania Studios is one of purpose, perseverance, and the enduring power of cinema.
Oceania is a place found on nautical maps in the South Pacific — a breadth of over fifteen hundred islands spreading across the ocean. This massive, wonder-filled geography inspired the name and vision of the studio. Stories, like islands, each hold their own world of truth and meaning, and every nautical journey to reach one connects our team to its mission.
Kevin McAfee, Jennifer Willingham, and Jag Gholson first gathered to discuss the foundation of a new Nashville-based studio. Together with Kevin and Lynn McAfee, they laid the groundwork for what would become Oceania. In its earliest days, the company operated under the name Golden Rule Entertainment — a nod to its foundational ethos of purposeful, human-centered storytelling.
When Dr. McAfee met Jennifer Willingham, the name Oceania Omnimedia was born. They shared a mutual vision: to harness all forms of media — publishing, music, digital platforms, and gaming — in service of stories that matter. Jennifer led as CEO and Co-Founder of EPIC.INC, which continues a strategic relationship in public relations and marketing to this day.
"Stories are often like islands — with each land mass on the water birthing wonder. Truth always lives beyond our imagination."
— Dr. Kevin McAfee, Founder & CEODr. Kevin McAfee founds his umbrella company — a growth, marketing, and capital firm that would become the Agency of Record for Oceania and continue supporting middle market companies for decades.
Kevin begins his career at Buena Vista (Disney) Studios. He moves to Nest Entertainment during the making of THE SWAN PRINCESS, distributed by New Line Cinema, where he leads development of the Animated Stories of the Bible.
Kevin serves as producer on BEYOND THE GATES OF SPLENDOR (2002) and executive producer on END OF THE SPEAR (2005) — both released by Fox, both recounting the true story of missionaries and the Waorani people in Ecuador. The films establish Oceania's reputation for purpose-driven cinematic truth.
Kevin directs and produces LAST OUNCE OF COURAGE, starring Marshall Teague and endorsed by Chuck Norris. The patriotic drama sparks a wave of screenplay submissions from Hollywood — leading directly to the creation of the Filmmakers Roundtable.
The McAfee family establishes Veritas Mission Films Association as the philanthropic arm of the parent company. Through the Maisha Project in Kenya, the organization feeds over 2.5 million meals to children — embodying the studio's ethos of "helping others from across every ocean."
Kevin is awarded a lifetime achievement award at Disney Studios — the same place where his career began. The recognition marks a full circle moment for a filmmaker who never strayed from his calling.
Veritas Mission Films produces a succession of acclaimed documentaries: THE SAMARITAN (2017), FINAL WORDS OF WWII (2021), #BUTGOD (2023), JOY IN THE MORNING, DIVINE VISITATIONS, and THE SUPERNATURAL STORY OF FREDRICK FULLER. The slate earns international festival recognition including the Audience Choice award at the International Christian Film Festival (2023).
Operating from Columbia, Tennessee with production meetings at Worldwide Stages in Spring Hill, Oceania continues to grow. The OCINEMA.CLUB streaming platform brings award-winning documentaries directly to audiences. New franchises including TACTICAL BADGER and WEREWOLVES OF NEW IDRIA are in development, while THE STORY OF GRACE awaits its 2025 festival release.

Oceania is designed to create content, develop franchises, and expand digital formats — always with purpose in mind. Creatively discovering stories of intrigue, sacrifice, and folklore from around the world was the focus in the early days, and it remains the focus today.
Family entertainment is the studio's north star. The partners believe the "family of man" should have a voice in racial reconciliation, inspiration, and love — and that the visual language of film is uniquely suited to create that impact in underserved markets around the world.
As demand grew from Hollywood for a proper adjudication and filtering process for content, The Filmmakers Roundtable was formed. Hundreds of screenwriters, authors, and content creators submitted work — and from this curated process, the best intellectual properties were formed and developed into Oceania's portfolio.
Today, the Roundtable serves as the "green light" filter for Oceania Studios, with six award-winning films now available through the OCINEMA.CLUB streaming platform.
